Introduction “the beginning of an idea…”

Harvesters in Sport is an Interdenominational Christian organisation that works with Communities through Camps, Sport, Sport-based Charity, Coaching Clinics, Workshops and Conferences in order to empower an individual mentally, physically and spiritually. We work with all age groups and are gradually expanding the scope of our activities with the objective of fulfilling our mandate. The focus of HIS is to become a vehicle for sports outreach and charity work to mobilize resources both inside and outside Zimbabwe for the development of a grassroots sports ministry.

Mission activities include Sports, Camps, Men's and Women's Teams, International Tours, Major Sporting Events, OVC Ministry, School Ministry and Prison Ministry with the inherent flexibility to expand as we grow. Read More>>

Vision Statement “return to innocence…”

To see God Glorified, lives changed and a countrywide, regional and beyond; movement of sports evangelism and charity work. To see the less privileged (orphans, AIDS orphans etc) going back to school, getting food and shelter and knowing God. Sports development- raise awareness of sporting disciplines and impart skills to individuals and communities To see school children imparted with sporting skills and going to become great sports persons and representing their nation, whilst being ambassadors for Christ. Scope of Influence 2006 “our network coverage…”

HiS has conducted Team Building, Leadership, Sports, Environmental, and De-Stress Camps and Day Activities for more than 10 Schools and 3 Corporate Institutions in 2006, totalling 25 events in one year alone, who have become part of our calendar, with more than one event lined up for each. Some of the institutions include Heritage School, Phoenix College, Harare Junior Council, Standard Chartered Bank, and many primary schools in Harare North and Eastern parts of the Capital. History “a journey of a thousand miles…”

After conception, the HiS Trust was registered in 2004, and in January 2005, Harvesters in Sport (HIS) was established in Harare, Zimbabwe by Hatiatyi Prosper Kwenda. Since then it has been running camps and sporting/ coaching clinics with local institutions – Corporate and Academic.

In 2006 alone, HiS has worked with the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture, ZIFA, and Foreign Coaches from Ireland, USA, and Canada. HiS is also a workman with other like-minded organisations such as Ambassadors in Sport, Athletes in Action, Youth Encounter and Oasis Zimbabwe. Read More>>
